Endometrial Receptivity Analysis (ERA) testing is a third-party test that is conducted by Igenomix. ERA testing is only recommended for those patients with recurrent implantation failure (RIF), meaning those who do not conceive after several transfers of good quality embryos.
A biopsy of the uterine lining is taken at the AART clinic. The biopsy is then shipped to the Igenomix lab for analysis. Igenomix analyzes specific genes within a biopsy of the endometrium to determine if the patient is in the appropriate window of implantation (WOI) for an embryo transfer. In about 70% of cases, ERA testing indicates the appropriate WOI. In about 30% of cases, ERA testing indicates a non-receptive result. If this is the case, a second biopsy may be performed at a different point in the cycle, which is indicated by Igenomix with the results of the first ERA test.
ERA testing must be arranged through one of our REI physicians.
There are fees for a mock transfer and biopsy to be completed at AART. There are also fees for Igenomix to complete the testing.
