AART’s success rates for fresh and frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles continue to be above the national average according to the Canadian Assisted Reproductive Technologies Register (CARTR). Our most recent full year results for success rates as indicated by a positive beta hCG are shown in the graph below.

In 2023, our overall pregnancy rate as indicated by a positive beta hCG was 56% and our ongoing pregnancy rate was 39.7%.

In 2023, 69.9% of our fresh cycles generated embryos that were frozen for potential future use during a FET cycle.

AART recommends single embryo transfers for most patients in order to reduce the risk of a multiple pregnancy.  The average number of embryos transferred across all transfers performed at AART in 2023 was 1.1.

In 2023, 8.5% of fresh cycles and 4.7% of frozen embryo transfers were Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) cycles.  AART only recommends PGT when medically indicated and supported by scientific evidence.

All of our lab key performance indicators (KPIs) exceed the competency level defined by European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) for assessing performance of an IVF lab.  Examples of the KPIs include: IVF fertilization rate, ICSI fertilization rate, and embryo utilization (how many fertilized eggs make usable embryos).
