Due to the risks associated with shipping embryos, we strongly recommend that patients with embryos at another clinic choose to undergo satellite monitoring with us and then travel to the other clinic for their embryo transfer.
The risks of shipping include:
The embryos may thaw during transfer;
there may be shipping delays due to the pandemic; and,
the clinic where the embryos were frozen may have a different thaw protocol and lab supplies than AART, which could negatively impact your outcome if the embryo is thawed at AART.
If you are interested in an appointment to discuss this further we will add you to our waitlist for an appointment with a physician as all patients (including satellite patients) need to be seen by an AART physician before proceeding.
If you are interested in shipping your embryos, eggs, or sperm to AART, the following information is required prior to receiving them from another clinic in order to determine if they are compatible with our lab supplies and protocols. The clinic where your eggs/embryos/sperm is stored should be able to provide you with this information.
Origin of the eggs and/or sperm (i.e., autologous or donor)
If a donor was used, all Canadian regulations for third party gametes paperwork must be provided
Brand of freezing media
Type of cryo device used
Grades and stage of embryos or semen analysis of frozen sperm
Serology from time of banking for both partners
Clinic where the gametes are currently stored
